Ned Nwoko alleges assassination plot

A former member of the House of Representatives, Ned Nwoko says there is a plot to assassinate him.

Nwoko, who is the husband of actress Regina Daniels, stated this during a joint press conference with his wife in Abuja on Thursday.

The businessman and politician who represented Aniocha North-South and Oshimili North-South of Delta State between 1999 and 2003 said that the assassination plot was linked to a dispute over a piece of land in his native Delta State, where he is building a university.

He said the matter was also linked to the traditional rulership of the community.

However, he said that the elders of the community have resolved the tussle for the traditional stool and also allocated the land for his project.

Nwoko disclosed that one Mr Ossy Bosah who was serving a jail term at Kuje Prison in Abuja exposed the assassinate plot, and identified an oil magnate in the area as the mastermind.

He said Bosah told him that he got to know about the assassination plot through fellow inmates.

The politician said that shortly after making the relevation, Bosah began to get threat text messages and died mysteriously shortly after.

According to him, the matter has been reported to the police and Department of State Services (DSS) for further investigation.
