Niger Delta Militants Gang up to Clap Back At Vice President Osinbajo
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo a little while back blasted the Militants of the Niger Delta, stating that they were not fighting for freedom but for their own pockets.
The Militants have now responded with a joint statement. Representatives of Niger Delta Volunteers, NDV, Niger Delta Peoples Liberation Front, NDPL, and Bakassi Freedom Fighters, BFF.
The statement signed by the spokespersons of each group; Ekpo Ekpo for NDV; Henry Etete for NDPLF and Asukwo Henshaw for BFF, advised that instead of Osinbajo criticizing them, he should go after the President for his various acts of injustice against the Niger delta.
The groups were critical of Buhari’s removal of Kachikwu as NNPC boss and replacing him with a Northerner and they demanded the presence of someone from the Niger Delta as Group Managing Director.
They also threatened to continue attacks against oil companies operating in the region and they urged oil unions to withdraw their members from rigs and platforms for their safety during the period.
On the matter of the constitution of the NNPC board they said; “It is an insult on the Niger Delta region that the Minister of Petroleum who also doubles as the President of Nigeria is from the North, the Group Managing Director, Dr. Maikanti Baru and four other members of the board are also from the North,”
