Nigeria Records 49 New Coronavirus Cases, Total Now 542

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has announced that 49 new Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country.

This was announced by the NCDC via its Twitter handle on Saturday night.

The breakdown of the new cases include 23 in Lagos, 12 in the FCT, 2 in Ogun, 1 in Oyo and 1 in Ekiti.

This brings the total number of cases in the country to 542. 19 people have died from the virus while 166 others have recovered and been discharged from hospital.

The Coronavirus claimed its highest ranking victim on Friday as chief of staff to President Buhari, Abba Kyari succumbed to the disease. He was buried on Saturday.
