A Nigerian Pastor identified as Pastor Abel Eku has been arrested for planting an explosive at the headquarters of his church.

The pastor who has served the Christ Chosen Church of God for 25 years was reported to have planted the explosive on the 22nd of January, a day which the church’s international conference was scheduled to hold.

Pastor Abel Eku who was arrested after the explosive was uncovered and detonated by security operatives of the Ed State Police command confessed to planting the bomb.

The 57-year-old pastor further added that he was responsible for the manufacture of the bomb which was planted in revenge of his dismissal from the church.

Abel Eku who was dismissed on grounds of marital issues noted that he had a rethink of his ways and therefore called officials of the church to inform them of the bomb’s location.

Speaking to newsmen, Pastor Eku said: “I am 57 years old. I had marital issues with my wife. We came to the church to resolve it and it was not resolved. It led to my dismissal. I was very bitter about the dismissal. I don’t have the intention of killing people. My action is very bad.”

Revealing how he became a pastor at the church before his dismissal, Pastor Eku Abel noted that his parents offered him to the church as a first fruit.

He said: “I was given to the church as a first issue. My parents were married for many years without any issue, so they vowed at the alter that any first child God gave to them would be given to the church. That was how they gave me to the church.”
