NiMet Predicts Sunny, Thundery Weather Conditions From Wednesday To Friday

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet), has predicted sunny and thundery weather activities across the country from Wednesday to Friday.

NiMet weather outlook released on Tuesday in Abuja,  envisaged partly cloudy to sunny condition to prevail over the northern region.

It further envisaged possible isolated cases of thunderstorms to prevail over the central, the inland cities and the coast of the south.

“For Wednesday, northern cities are expected to be in partly cloudy to sunny condition throughout forecast period while central cities are anticipated to be in partly cloudy to cloudy conditions.

It, however, predicted slim chances of afternoon thunderstorms in Lokoja.

“ Partly cloudy to cloudy morning is expected over the entire inland areas and parts of the coastal region with possibilities of isolated thunderstorms over Port-Harcourt and Yenagoa
environs.

“ Later in the day, better prospects of isolated thunderstorms are expected over the entire inland areas and wide spread of thunderstorms along the coastal cities,“ it said.

The agency predicted partly cloudy to sunny skies over the northern cities on Thursday during the day.

According to NiMet, central cities are expected to be in partly cloudy to cloudy condition in the morning hours with prospects of isolated thunderstorms over Kaduna, Zaria and Jos in the afternoon/evening period.

It envisaged entire inland areas of the south and coastal cities to be cloudy in the morning hours with better prospect of isolated thunderstorms over entire inland areas during the afternoon and evening period.

NiMet predicted thunderstorms over southwest coastal areas in the morning while the southeast coast would  be in cloudy morning.

It forecast chances of isolated thunderstorms across the inland and its coastal region later in the day.

“For Friday, sunny to partly cloudy weather condition is envisaged over the northern cities throughout the forecast time.

“In the morning hours, partly cloudy to cloudy conditions are expected over the central cities.

“ Further into the day, most places will be cloudy, with chances of isolated thunderstorms in cities like Kwara, Nassarawa, FCT, Makurdi, Taraba, Yelwa and Niger.

“The inland areas of the south and the coastal cities are expected to be in cloudy conditions in the morning hours, but there are chances of isolated thunderstorms over the southeast coast in the morning.

“ Also, with better prospects of isolated thunderstorms over the entire inland areas of the south and coastal cities during the afternoon and evening period“ it said.
