Obinna Nwafor, a renowned Nigerian actor, popularly known as Saint Obi, has passed away at the age of 57. The veteran actor, who was a prominent figure in the Nollywood movie industry, reportedly died on May 7, 2023, after battling an undisclosed illness.
Sources have revealed that the actor had been receiving treatments for his illness before his demise, and had even relocated to Jos, where he was being cared for by his sister. Unfortunately, he was confirmed dead by news bloggers at the Jos University Teaching Hospital.
Saint Obi’s career in the Nigerian movie industry spanned several years, and he was well known for his outstanding performances in movies like State of Emergency and Sakobi The Snake Girl, among others. He was a gifted thespian who brought life to every character he portrayed on screen.
The news of his death has left his fans and colleagues in the movie industry heartbroken. His contributions to the growth and development of Nollywood will always be remembered and cherished. He will be dearly missed from the Nigerian movie scene.
