Northern governors, National Assembly members from the region, the Inspector General of Police, and the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed and others today converged at the Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Kaduna for a closed-door meeting.

The high-powered meeting also involved influential traditional rulers in the region.

Although the agenda of the meeting was not made available to journalists, it is believed to be in connection with insecurity in the region, the tensions generated by the EndSARS/SecureNorth protests and how to further assuage the youths.

Recall that Kaduna was the capital of the old Northern Region.

As the meeting progressed, journalists and aides of the prominent individuals in attendance were said to be milling around the Kaduna Government House in anticipation of its outcome.

Pundits say the outcome would be communicated in a communiqué later on Monday.

In the heat of the protests, the Northern Fovernors Forum had opposed the scrapping of the Special Anti-Robbery (SARS), which excesses provoked the EndSARS protests.

Speaking through the forum’s chairman and Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, they hinged their opposition on the laudable achievements of SARS operatives in combating insecurity in the region.
