The UN’s Resolution to veto a draft resolution by Donald Trump to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital has been named “unacceptable” by the Palestinian government.

Mahmud Abass a spokesperson for the Palestinian presidency has called the veto “Unacceptable and threatens the stability of the international community because it disrespects it.”

Although the 14 other countries which include Britain, France, Italy, Japan and Ukraine, on the Security Council voted in favour, the US ambassador Nikki Haley parleyed a veto.

“The United States will not be told by any country where we can put our embassy,
“what we witnessed here today in the Security Council is an insult. It won’t be forgotten,
“It is 1 more example of the United Nations doing more harm than good in addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.” she stated

The Palestinians backed by Muslim countries, are expected to turn to the UN General Assembly to adopt a resolution rejecting the US decision after the US veto.
Palestinian foreign minister Riyad al-Malki speaking in Ramallah said while Haley considers “the veto a source of pride and strength. We will show her their position is isolated and rejected internationally,”
