A young pastor at a new generation church has vanished into the thin air after drilling a knife through his biological mother in Anambra State.
The suspect, Nwabueze Anaka, who lives in the Ifite Oraifite community of Ekwusigo Local Government Area in the state, is said to have carried out the act in the early hours of August 27 before fleeing to avoid arrest.
After visiting the scene of the incident, the deceased was identified as Mrs. Grace Anaka and was moved to a hospital where she was declared dead.
While the pastor’s actions have not been tied to any reason yet, officers reports indicate that he may have been suffering from some sort of mental illness.
While speaking with newsmen, the spokesperson for Police in Anambra Harun Mohammed, revealed that the pastor used a dagger on his mother in their family compound and absconded immediately after. However, officers had been charged to bring him to justice son enough.
He said, “There was a report at Oraifite Division today 27/8/2019 at about 12:00pm that same date at about 6:am, one Nwabueze Anaka, aged about 30yrs of Umunakwa Oraifite, allegedly stabbed his mother one Grace Anaka ‘f’, aged about 50 years with a dagger and took to flight.
“Police detectives attached to the Division visited the scene, photographed and took the victim to the hospital where she was certified dead by the medical doctor after which corpse was deposited at the rest land morgue, Oraifite.
“Circumstances surrounding the incident is yet to be ascertained but the complainants alleged that the suspect is having some mental challenges.”
