The Lagos State Government has demolished illegal shanties and settlements at No 6-8, Oyinkan Abayomi Street, Ikoyi, Lagos.

Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab made this known in an X post on Tuesday evening.

He said that the shanties were demolished in a two-day operation by operatives from the Lagos Building Control Agency (LABSCA) and Monitoring Enforcement and Compliance Department of the ministry.

According to him, the demolished occurred following petitions from concerned residents about the unwholesome activities going on in the illegal settlement and shanties with its attendant security implications.
