It was learnt that the incident occurred on Thursday after the victim tried to take hot water to bathe on returning from the market.

The victim, who placed the water on the cooker, was said to have stopped him, claiming he did not provide money for house upkeep nor to refill the cooking gas cylinder.

Uba reportedly ignored Sandra’s protest and proceeded to scoop the hot water, during which she attacked him and a fight ensued.

Amid the brouhaha, Sandra was said to have reached for a kitchen knife supposedly to stab her husband but the man overpowered her, collected the knife and used it to stab her several times until she collapsed.

Uba reportedly rushed his injured wife to a private hospital where she was confirmed dead by doctors.

His daughter was said to have rushed to a nearby police station to report the incident and the suspect was arrested.
