Police arrest lady for stabbing boyfriend to death over infidelity in Lagos

A live-in lover, Precious Okogbua, has been arrested by police for stabbing her boyfriend, Auwal Sulaiman, to death in a riverine community in Lagos.

The incident occurred on August 1 as the duo had an argument over alleged infidelity.

This was said to have degenerated into a fight during which Sulaiman overpowered his girlfriend and beat her up.

During the fight, Okogbua allegedly reached for a knife and stabbed him in the neck, causing him to fall to the ground.

Although the victim was immediately rushed to the General Hospital, Apapa by neighbours, he was confirmed dead by doctors shortly after.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said, “On August 1, 2020, one Musa Abubakar, Manager Island Village, off Liverpool, Apapa, came to the station and reported that on the same day, he received a phone call that one Precious Okogbua, stabbed her lover, Auwal Sulaiman, in the neck with a knife.

“The victim was rushed to the General Hospital in Apapa, where he was confirmed dead. Upon close observation of the corpse, there was a mark of violence in his neck.

“We have transferred the suspect to the SCIID, Yaba, for discreet investigation and we have deposited the corpse in a mortuary for an autopsy.”
