Popular Singer Joeboy Slams Government Over National Anthem Change

Nigerian singer Joseph Akinfenwaa Donus, known by his stage name Joeboy, has criticized the federal government’s decision to prioritize changing the National Anthem.

This comes after President Bola Tinubu signed the National Anthem Bill 2024 into law on Wednesday, effectively reinstating the old anthem, “Nigeria, We Hail Thee.” Joeboy took to his social media platform (presumably Twitter) to express his disapproval.

“Of all the problems Nigerians have to deal with, changing the national anthem is priority? Okay naw,” he wrote, questioning the government’s choice of focus.
