Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has slammed Ovation publisher, Dele Momodu for publicly calling on presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to concede defeat to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

Momodu took to social media to make the call on Tuesday morning, after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had announced results of Saturday’s presidential election in 11 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

He said that Atiku’s concession would help the nation avoid bloodshed in the aftermath of the election.

Momodu, a former presidential candidate, said, “My dear WAZIRIN, as a believer, you are aware that only God can give or take power. You’ve written your name in gold. Do not wait a minute longer. Please, pick that phone and call President Muhammadu Buhari. You have much more to gain Sir… Pass on the burden!”

However, taking to his verified Twitter handle, Omokri described Momodu’s call as insensitive, wondering why Momodu could not make the call privately.

The former Special Assistant to President Jonathan on New Media, said, “Dear Dele Momodu, I know for a fact you have Atiku’s phone number, email address and WhatsApp details. Why do you choose to do this publicly? Why add to the already heavy burden the man is carrying? He is carrying an elephant. Why add a snake to his load?”
