Following the Central Bank of Nigeria’s revocation of Heritage Bank’s operating license, Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has taken to social media to seek help, revealing that she has over N100 million stuck in her account with the bank.
Eke explained that she opened the account due to the bank’s sponsorship of the reality show, and her account manager had advised her to fix her money despite knowing about the bank’s issues. She expressed regret and blamed herself for not being cautious.
The reality star has submitted a notice to the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Commission, hoping to retrieve her funds. However, the NDIC’s liquidation process prioritizes refunding deposits of N5 million and below, leaving Eke’s fate uncertain.
