Former President,Olusegun Obasanjo has lamented that selfish leaders hindered the growth and progress of the nation.
Obasanjo said this when the leadership and members of the Scout Association of Nigeria paid him a courtesy visit and decorated him as Messenger of Peace Ambassador for Africa at his Presidential Hilltop mansion in Abeokuta.
He said that any leader who will be successful must be prepared to at all time to face challenges, especially unexpected challenges.
He said “We need a Scout spirit in our country not just for individual benefit alone but also for services to the nation. Work collectively and provide the leadership that will make us get progress.”
He noted the every Nigerian must put their hands on deck in order to ensure the growth and development of the nation.
Chief Commissioner of Scout Association of Nigeria, Olusoga Sofola-Atibioke during his speech said the investiture of Obasanjo as its ambassador will help build a peaceful and formidable Africa with special focus on Nigeria.
