Former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has disclosed the reason being his altercation with the First Lady of Kebbi State, Dr Zainab Bagudu.

The Herald had reported how the ex-minister hit at the governor’s wife for calling him an attention seeker.

She said this after Fani-Kayode accused her husband, Governor Atiku Bagudu, of orchestrating the non-confirmation of former Acting Chief Judge of the state, Justice Asabe Kataru allegedly because of her Christian faith.

Bagudu swore in Justice Suleiman Ambursa as Acting Chief Judge of the state on Friday, after the State House of Assembly refused to confirm Karatu as substantive Chief Judge.

Responding to a Twitter user, who slammed the governor’s wife over the controversy generated by the incident, Fani-Kayode said, “Well spoken. When I raised this issue of great national importance she said that I should be ignored and that I am looking for attention.

“This is someone who I have known since she was 15 and someone whose father I reverred.

“Instead of offering a plausible explanation for her husbands shameful behaviour or calling me privately to put their side of the story she insulted me publicly.Well I am not surprised. After all I am just a Christian.

The attitude of these people amazes me.Meanwhile I spoke to the former CJ Asabe Karatu at length and thestory is even worse than the public is aware of. The Gov. is so vindictive that he has taken away all her police protection, her official vehicle that she is entited to and all the other perks that are her due.

“He has also denied her of her full pension by refusing to confirm her and then sacking her. This is after 38 years of diligent and meritorious service in the states civil service and Judiciary. And all because she is Christian and she refused to be a puppet to Atiku Bagudu. What a tragedy!”
