Afrobeats singer Simi is showing her support for fellow musician Tiwa Savage’s new film venture. Taking to her Twitter platform, Simi expressed her excitement and admiration for Savage’s directorial debut in “Water and Garri.”
In her tweet, Simi acknowledged the challenges Savage might have faced in venturing into filmmaking. “So excited for and proud of @TiwaSavage,” Simi wrote. “She challenged herself and dared to do what many must have told her not to.”
Simi revealed she had the opportunity to witness Savage’s work firsthand. “I saw her movie ‘Water and Garri’ at the premier in NY and was so happy to see her launch herself in this space,” she continued.
Simi further commended Savage’s perseverance, acknowledging the potential rejections Savage may have encountered.”So bravely,” Simi said. “She told me about some of the sacrifices she had made just to make it happen. How many ‘no’s’ she got and how she refused to let it deter her.”
Simi concluded her message with a shower of support for Savage: “I wish her all the best things 🩵🩵🩵.”
