Renowned Nigerian singer and songwriter, Chike, has recently shared his perspective on parenthood and relationships in an exclusive interview with The Cable Lifestyle. The artist, famous for hits like “Roju,” has expressed his desire to avoid the concept of having a “baby mama.”
During the conversation, Chike openly discussed the trend of celebrities fathering children outside of marriage. He emphasized that while he personally aimed to steer clear of such situations, he acknowledged that life sometimes takes unexpected turns. The singer admitted that he would accept the circumstances if he found himself in that position.
Chike, known for his melodious tunes and soulful voice, went on to voice his support for artists maintaining multiple relationships. He stated, “I do not have anything against it; it was not an intentional thing for most people.” He further noted that the dynamics of human relationships can often lead to unanticipated outcomes. The artist added that engaging in intimate relationships carries the possibility of offspring, acknowledging the biological nature of such unions.
The singer reflected on the changing societal perceptions regarding non-traditional family arrangements. He noted that while having children outside of wedlock was previously considered taboo, times have evolved, and these views have become less rigid. Chike remained neutral on the subject, emphasizing that his personal goal was to avoid such situations. However, he remained open-minded and prepared to accept the consequences should circumstances differ from his intentions.
Shifting the conversation towards his own reputation, Chike shared insights on how he has successfully avoided scandalous situations. He attributed this to finding a balance in his interactions and relationships. “Anything can be scandalous, it just depends on the people involved and how hotheaded they are,” he explained.
