Small Doctor Charged to Court for Illegal Possession of Firearms
Nigerian artiste Adekunle Temitope more popularly known as small doctor has been arraigned in court by men of the Nigeria Police on charges of unlawful possession of firearms.
According to the Punch newspaper who cited a source within the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba, the popular artiste was arraigned before an Ebute Meta Magistrate’s court on Tuesday.
The development was further confirmed by another source within the Magistrate court.
Small doctor had been arrested by men of the Lagos state police command at Oshodi on Monday; the officers had arrested him alongside three others before they realized he was a local pop star.
Before he was arrested, small doctor and his crew had threatened to shoot a police officer at a police road block; this action prompted a hunt by the police who thought the local pop star and his crew were armed robbers.
He had thereafter been paraded alongside others at the Police command headquarters at Ikeja on Monday.
The state Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, alleged that Small Doctor had shot and injured four people not too long ago.
He further noted that the injured persons were admitted to a hospital and vowed that the artiste would be made to face the law.
