A man in the United States has been charged with two counts of rape, after he allegedly raped two women he caught shoplifting in a Clarksville, Tennessee store where he worked.

The suspect, 38-year-old Robert Lindlau, an assistant manager at the Dollar General Store reportedly committed the act in March 2015 but was arrested and charged on Tuesday.

According to the police, he forced the two women to perform sexual acts on him in the back of the store after he told them he had called the police which he hadn’t.

He also told them the police would be arriving within the hour to take them away before he locked the door of his office where he assaulted the women aged 44 and 32.

The women were forced to undress before he fondled them, Clarksville police said .

Authorities also said Lindlau forced the women, who feared for their safety, to perform oral sex on him.

He then instructed them to dress up and leave the store, with some of the items they had tried to take.
