A wedding ceremony was turned into a mocking scene after a suicide bomber infiltrated the ceremony in Afghanistan. The attack which cost a total of 63 persons their lives, is said to have been the most fatal in many months in the country.
Prior to the time, there have been talks that the United States should reduce the number of its soldiers in the region, with the hope that demilitarizing would help foster peace.
Express how devastated he had become since the tragic incident, the groom, Mirwais, explained that he never believed he would later find the lifeless bodies of guests whom he had initially exchanged pleasantries with on the same venue of his wedding ceremony.
He stated, “It changed my happiness to sorrow. My family, my bride are in shock, they cannot even speak. My bride keeps fainting. I lost my brother, I lost my friends, I lost my relatives. I will never see happiness in my life again.”
Also, a wedding guest who escaped death but was seriously injured at the scene said, “The wedding guests were dancing and celebrating the party when the blast happened. Following the explosion, there was total chaos. Everyone was screaming and crying for their loved ones.”
According to reports, the wedding was filled Shia Muslims – as sect usually targeted by the Islamic State terrorists in Afghanistan.
