Sunday Oliseh’s reign as Super Eagles started with a draw against the Tafia Stars of Tanzania at a fully packed Dar es Salaam national stadium in Tanzania.

The Super Eagles though top the group D with this draw with four points from two matches as at the time of going to press. Egypt is playing against Rwanda tomorrow.

The game had its moments of ingenuity as well nervous times with the imposing Carl Ikeme–who was making his national team debut at the ripe age of 29 saved Nigeria’s blushes on several occasions.

The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalie was called into action only minutes into the game and was there to ensure Nigeria ran away from Tanzania with their dignity intact, all through the 2nd period.

Within 35 minutes of play, Oliseh made his first official substitution by bringing off a lacklustre Haruna Lukman.

Oliseh made more changes to the team at the resumption of the second half in his bid to take home the three points.

On a general note, it was a good match for Oliseh and the new set of Eagles in town.
