Taraba Gov, Ishaku Presents N68.8bn For 2016 Appropriation Bill

Taraba State Governor, Arch Darius Dickson Ishaku has presented N68.8 billion appropriation bill to the state House of Assembly for the 2016 fiscal year.

Ishaku while presenting the appropriation bill yesterday at the Harlow Chamber of the state House of Assembly said the budget was the take – off point of his Rescue Agenda.

“The State Government has therefore proposed a budget of Sixty Eight Billion, Eight Hundred and Ten Million, One Hundred and Thirteen Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Five Naira (N68, 810,113,885.00) for her services in the 2016 fiscal year,” Ishaku said.

The breakdown of the budget shows that; Forty Two Billion, Seven Hundred and Twenty Eight Million, Three Hundred and Twenty Four Thousand, Three Hundred and Fifty Naira (N42,728,324,350.00) which represents 62.10 percent of the budget was earmarked for Recurrent Expenditure.

While Capital Expenditure got Twenty Six Billion, Eighty One Million, Seven Hundred and Eighty Nine Thousand, Five Hundred and Thirty Five Naira (N26,081,789,535) representing 37.90 percent of the budget.

Responding, the Deputy Speaker of the House, Alhaji Mohammed Gwampo, who presided over the plenary, assured the governor that the house would study the budget estimate and give it accelerated passage.
