The Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said that in the application of the rules of law, there will be no sacred cows under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Osinbajo stated this in Abuja yesterday at the ongoing 21st National Economic Summit on the theme “Reforming Public Institutions to Ensure Competitiveness and Accountability.”

The vice president specifically charged the elite in the country to play a significant role in upholding existing rules and regulations.

“I find that everybody will like the rules to be applied so long as it will not apply to himself. We can’t apply the rules except we apply the rules to all of us; there should be no sacred cows…,” he said.

According to the vice president, it is the collective responsibility of all Nigerians to bring about the much-desired changes in the country.

He said the Federal Government was embarking on the reforms of public institutions to effectively and efficiently enhance their capacity and capabilities in response to the needs and demands of Nigerians.

Osinbajo said the ongoing reform agenda of the government were aimed at achieving fiscal discipline, revenue diversification and efficient collection of government revenue
