Prelate, Motailatu Church, Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, Dr. Israel Akinadewo, on Sunday emphasised the need for all Nigerians to intercede for the country irrespective of religious, traditional and cultural background.

Akinadewo, who made the call in a statement in Lagos, said the country would rise above whatever challenges it was facing, if the people could pray with determination and oneness.

He said that Nigerians should forget all their differences and work toward the development of the nation to ensure that the country’s gets to the next level, saying “there is still light at the end of the tunnel for Nigeria.”

In his message to celebrate the Yuletide season with the theme: “The need for Spiritual and National Regeneration”, Akinadewo noted that some notable factors had impacted negatively on the economy.

“No doubt, it has been a very interesting year globally and most especially, the negative effects of the happenings on developing economies, Nigeria inclusive; the insecurity has also aided the current situation.

“But, my people of God, there is hope if we truly forget all differences to unitedly call upon the name of God, in addition to taking the necessary economic steps as done by many developed nations, hence, the need for spiritual and national regeneration.

“This season thus calls for forgiveness, repentance, humble admittance of our failings, and our sincere coming together in one accord to chart a better course for our nation.

“When the Biblical Jews faced this kind of situation, their first point of call was seeking the face of God and they were equally determined in building a performing economy.

“Nigeria could also get to that level if only we forget our differences and “do the needful,” he said.

According to him, the Scripture says that for man, this is impossible, but for God, all things are possible, quoting the Gospel of Matthew Chapter 19 verse 26.

“Hence, our country shall rise again and above its inadequacies, through Christ our Lord, ” the prelate prayed.
