Popular musician, Ayodeji Balogun aka Wizkid has been described as a “dumb kid” by the presidency after he called President Muhammadu Buhari “old man”.
The award-winning artiste had used the term on Twitter on Sunday while faulting the president for wishing his COVID-19-infected American counterpart, Donald Trump quick recovery while the police continued to harass and brutalise Nigerian youths.
“Donald trump is not your business! Old man! Police/Sarz still killing Nigerian youth on a daily! Do something!
“Nothing concern u for America! Face your country!!” Wizkid wrote.
However, his use of the term “old man” caused a stir on Twitter, with many divided over its propriety.
Reacting, social media aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Mrs Lauretta Onochie on Tuesday said, “Its not disrespectful to call anyone old. Its the way and manner Ayo Balogun addressed the President that leaves a sour taste in the mouth. He exhibited crass ignorance, insensitivity and childishness. But hey, he’s a #DumbkidNotWhizKid
