Guesting on the show, actress Ini Edo inquired about Toke’s experience at the COP28 Climate Summit, specifically delving into her engagement with panel discussions. Toke Makinwa confidently responded, stating, “Yes, I accomplished everything I set out to do with it [COP28].”
Toke revealed that the criticism gained momentum when “important people” started reaching out to her. She humorously shared an anecdote from her time in Dubai, noting, “I walked into this hotel in Dubai where there were a lot of important people, all of them had seen the backlash, and they started calling me ‘item seven,’ and it was funny. We all just laughed. It was so funny.”
Despite the initial uproar, Toke Makinwa asserted that her involvement in the COP28 Climate Summit was fruitful and impactful. She highlighted that her backlash became one of the top trends during the summit, emphasizing that she successfully accomplished her objectives.
