Northern Traditional Ruler Lands In Jail Over N1.5million Fraud

The long arm of law has caught up with a traditional ruler in the country as he has been sentenced to time in prison.

The Zamfara State traditional ruler, Umar Kabir Danbaba, who appeared before the Kano State High Court was sentenced to one year in prison for fraud.

The sentence was delivered by Justice Nasiru Saminu after the traditional ruler appeared before him on grounds of Cheating.

The traditional ruler was dragged before the court by anti-graft agency,Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The suspect was found guilty by the court of obtaining the sum of N1,470,000 (One Million, Four Hundred and Seventy Thousand naira) from the complainant for the purpose of securing and allocating mining site in Zamfara State and instead diverted the money for personal use.
