The description of the Teen Miss USA according to the organizers is a ‘celebration of diversity’.
A lot of people were left scratching their heads when the top five finalists turned out looking almost identical to each other with no minority group whatsoever represented.
All the girls were blond and petite and a lot of commenters on Twitter felt this wasn’t at all in capturing the spirit of the pageant.
Among the critics was model Chrissy Teigen who mocked the selection asking in what can only be termed as a sarcastic tone, “Wow, how can we choose from such a diverse bunch.”
