Veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji has slammed those who spread false rumors about his death in recent weeks. These baseless speculations surfaced while Orji was undergoing critical brain surgeries in the UK.
In a recent interview on Channels Television, Orji expressed his frustration with the pervasiveness of fake news on social media. “Social media has made people reckless to the extent of spreading fake news,” he said.
Orji revealed that the rumors prompted a flurry of calls from concerned friends and family, many of whom he hadn’t heard from in years.
“I don’t know who started this lie, but it was a terrible one,” Orji said. “I received calls from people saying they heard I had passed away. It was upsetting.“
He continued, “Social media has made people callous, spreading rumors just to grow their pages.“
