Veteran Liz Benson Makes Return To Nollywood

Legendary Nollywood actress Liz Benson is gracing the silver screen once again after a hiatus of several years. Benson is set to star in the upcoming film “A Mother’s Son,” produced by Mercy Johnson and directed by Vincent De Anointed.

The news of Benson’s return was met with excitement by the cast and crew, as seen in a behind-the-scenes video shared by Mercy Johnson on Instagram. The film boasts a star-studded line-up including Mike Godson, Mercy Johnson herself,Evia Simon, Ozioma Maurice, and George Inaibeh.

Benson, visibly touched by the warm reception from her colleagues, expressed her admiration for the current generation of Nollywood actors. “You guys are doing exploits; God bless you,” she said.

The veteran actress, who hails from Etinan, Akwa Ibom state, began her acting career as a child prodigy at the tender age of five in 1971. However, it was her role as Mrs. Agnes Johnson on the NTA soap opera “Fortunes” in 1993 that truly propelled her to fame. Throughout the 1990s, Benson became a household name, starring in numerous Nollywood classics and solidifying her place as a screen icon.

Benson’s return marks a significant moment for Nollywood, as fans eagerly anticipate her comeback performance in “A Mother’s Son.”
