Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has reacted to the victory of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary in Port Harcourt on Sunday.

The Chairman of the PDP National Convention, Ifeanyi Okowa, announced that Atiku won 1,532 votes to clinch the ticket ahead of other contestants like Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal and Senate President Bukola Saraki.

Reacting to the announcement on Sunday, Fani-Kayode, who was also in Port Harcourt for the Convention, said that Atiku, 71, would send Buhari, 76, into retirement in next year’s presidential election.

Taking to his Twitter handle, the outspoken Fani-Kayode said, “Congrats to the Waziri of Adamawa Atiku Abubakar on a great victory. Now is the time for each and every one of us in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to come together as a party and prepare for the presidential election.

“All Progressives Congress (APC) get ready for war! President Muhammadu Buhari prepare for your retirement!”
