A former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has reacted to the curse placed on the Atiku-Obi presidential ticket by popular Catholic cleric, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka.
In a video that went on Monday, Mbaka purportedly prophesied defeat for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) flagbearers against incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential polls.
The vocal cleric, who is the Founder of the Adoration Ministry with headquarters in Enugu, was said to have placed a curse on the duo after Obi refused to pledge anything to help the church’s growth.
However, All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodinma was said to have pledged, on Buhari’s behalf, to build a hospital to assist the church.
Reacting via his verified Twitter handle on Monday night, Omokri, a US-based pastor, described Mbaka as arrogant.
He tweeted, “What kind of arrogance is Father Mbaka suffering from? He said President Muhammadu Buhari should have come to Enugu to “thank the ministry that made him who he is”. His exact words! Oh Mbaka, I do not know if you have read Daniel 4:17. God, not your ministry, made Buhari who he is!

“And then Reverend Mbaka asked Governor Umar Ganduje (of Kano) to ‘sow seed’. It is even captured on video. How can Mbaka ask a man who is known to be a thief to bring out of his thievery and sow unto God’s altar? I weep for the Catholic Church! Is the Pope not ashamed of this man?
“Reverend Mbaka has supported Buhari since 2015, yet Buhari never told him “not to politicise religion”. He even invited him to Aso Rock. Now that religious leaders like Sheikh Gumi are against him, Buhari suddenly remembered that it is wrong to politicise religion.
“For those who are worried about Fr. Mbaka saying Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi would lose to President Muhammadu Buhari, don’t forget Mbaka also projected that Ibrahim Dankwambo (Governor of Gombe) would be our next President during his 2018 New Year prophecies. God is not an author of confusion. Mbaka is on his own!”
