Whitemoney Skips AMVCA, Credits Outlandish Outfits to Designer Debt Fear

Popular reality star Whitemoney, known to fans as Hazel Oyeze Onou, was noticeably absent from the 10th Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA) held on Saturday in Lagos. In a lighthearted video message shared on his Instagram account, Whitemoney jokingly explained his reason for skipping the ceremony.

“I’ve been getting calls about missing the AMVCAs,” Whitemoney said. “But how could I possibly go with what these guys were wearing?”

He then humorously highlighted some of the most talked-about outfits, including Neo Akpofure’s dress and Elozonam’s angelic all-white ensemble. Whitemoney playfully suggested these extravagant looks came at a high price, potentially exceeding one million naira (around $2,300 USD) when accounting for both the outfit and stylist fees.

“Look, I’m not an actor, so the AMVCA pressure isn’t for me,” Whitemoney continued. “Imagine spending over a million naira for a dress you’ll only wear once! The ladies were slaying too, by the way. Next year, maybe. But for now, a word to the wise: pay your designers in full to avoid them calling you out online!”
