Why EFCC Must Investigate Tinubu’s Bullion Vans – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide, Reno Omokri has urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate the case of two bullion vans seen driving into the home of National Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on the eve of the Presidential and National Assembly elections.

He made the appeal via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday evening, while commending the commission’s release of lawyer to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

EFCC said it was investigating the lawyer and Atiku’s son-in-law Babalele Abdullahi over alleged money laundering to the tune of $150 million.

Recall that Tinubu admitted owning the undisclosed sum of money inside the bullion vans but said it was not money stolen from government as he had been out of government for a very long time.

He said, “I don’t work for the government. I am not in an agency of the government, and let anybody come out to say I have taken any contract from the government of President Buhari and the APC in the last five years.

“If I don’t represent any agency of government and I have money to spend if I like I give it to the people for free of charge as long as it is not to buy votes.”

However, Omokri said that EFCC must investigate Tinubu’s bullion vans to prove that it is a law enforcement body and not an enforcement body of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Omokri said, “BREAKING NEWS: EFCC just released Atiku’s lawyer. I commend them and urge Ibrahim Magu and the EFCC to remember that they are a law enforcement body, not an APC enforcement body. I eagerly await their investigation of Asiwaju Tinubu’s election bullion vans.”
