The Director of New Media, All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has explained why the presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu prayed for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Ending his speech at the APC presidential campaign flag-off at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium, Jos, Plateau State on Tuesday, Tinubu said, “God bless Nigeria. God bless PD…” before retracing his speech to say “APC”.

The APC presidential candidate was severely mocked on Twitter over the apparent gaffe.

Taking to the platform on Thursday, Fani-Kayode said Tinubu, who is a Muslim, prayed for his “enemies” in compliance with Biblical injunction.

“Bible says “pray for your enemies & show them love for it is like heaping coals of fire on their head: in doing so the Lord will REWARD you.”

“Glad that BAT prayed for PDP.

“We repay their EVIL with GOOD so that, as the Bible says, “evil will never depart from their households”,” Fani-Kayode said.
