Wike lifts suspension on Port Harcourt LG boss

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has lifted the suspension on Chairman of Port Harcourt Local Government, Hon Victor Ihunwo.

The lifting of the suspension was announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Wenike Danagogo.

Wike had suspended the council boss over illegal tax collection.

He had also directed the traders at the Ogbum-nu-Abali Fruit Garden Market not to have any dealing with anyone who claims to be acting on behalf of Port Harcourt Local Government Area.

The statement lifting the ban read, “This is to announce that the Governor of Rivers State, Barr. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike CON, GSSRS, has lifted the suspension of the Chairman of Port Harcourt Local Government, Hon Victor Ihunwo.

“The Chairman is to resume normal duties immediately and has been strictly warned to abide by all the rules governing local government administration.

“He is further warned to desist from engaging in all forms of illegal or double taxation or any other acts against public interest.”
