World Cup: Iceland Pays Visit To Nigerian Goalkeeper Ahead Of Friday Clash

Sick Nigerian goalkeeper, Carl Ikeme has been visited by Super Eagles’ opponents Iceland ahead of Friday’s second Group D game.

Ikeme was unable to make the World Cup after being diagnosed with acute leukemia.

Reading forward Jon Dadi Bodvarsson led his Iceland teammates on a solidarity visit to the Wolves goalkeeper who they also presented with an Iceland jersey with his name at the back.

“All of us in @footballiceland are with you @Carl_Ikeme,” he tweeted on Tuesday.

Iceland, who drew Argentina on Saturday, will face the Super Eagles at the Volgograd Arena on Friday.

Ikeme last played for Nigeria in a 2-1 victory over Zambia in October 2016.
