Ugandan female artiste, Cindy Sanyu, has labelled Omah Lay an “idiot” following posts the Nigerian singer made about the controversial concert held in Uganda.
Sanyu lamented the starvation artistes have been suffering in Uganda since the Uganda Ministry of Health imposed a lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Despite the lockdown in the country, Nigerian duo of Omah Lay and Tems went ahead with the planned concert, with the former posting pictures of the event and hailing its success.
Cindy Sanyu took to social media to blast the erring artistes while stating that all her colleagues obeyed the lockdown rules despite the economic hardship of the regulations.
She also took a swipe at the organizers of the concert, describing it as “not right”.
Both artists were subsequently arrested, together with their managers, and kept in separate custodies.
They were both brought before a Makindye Division Court in the capital city, Kampala, on Monday, with further hearings adjourned till Wednesday, December 16.
