A lady, Mrs Soares Febisola says Ekiti Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi’s Special Assistant on Security Matters, Mr Sola Durodola is trying to kill.

She made the allegation in a petition forwarded to the governor.

The petition was dated January 12, 2021 and shared with journalists by her lawyer, A.O Okeya.

Febisola alleged that the governor’s aide harassed and assaulted her publicly after he drove his vehicle recklessly and nearly bashed hers around 4.45 pm at Okesa area of the state capital, Ado Ekiti.

She said her family members were with her inside her vehicle when Durodola’s vehicle nearly rammed hers.

The petitioner explained that the governor’s aide rather than apologise started to rain abuses and called her names.

“Mr. Durodola later made a call and within some minutes, three military personnel drove down in their truck and pointed a gun at our client’s head and drove her to the pavilion at Fajuyi.

“Our client then quickly made some calls to her colleagues to come to her aid. Though they appealed to my client and asked her to go, but they said Mr Durodola told our client that she has been marked and that he will deal with her appropriately using his power, position and all he has,” the petition read in part.

She demanded a thorough investigation into the incident, while appealing to the governor to stop his aide from carrying out his alleged threat.

“It is, therefore, the instruction of our client to appeal to the Governor, to help use his good offices to call Mr. Durodola to order as the stories about his attitude and behaviour can end up soiling the good name Governor Fayemi has built over years,” the petition further read.

Responding, Durodola denied harassing or assaulting the woman, describing her allegation as a “tissue of lies”.

He said that Febisola damaged his car and apologised for doing so on the day of the incident.
