Immediate-past Governor of Zamfara State, Abdulaziz Yari says that the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved to put all the animosity within the party behind them.

Yari spoke when he met the interim national leadership of the party led by the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Mai Mala Buni, at the National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday.

He stressed that the state was ready for true reconciliation among the aggrieved members.

Yari, whose faction had engaged the Sen. Kabiru Marafa-led faction of the party in a supremacy battle since 2019, led a delegation of Zamfara APC to a meeting with Buni’s committee.

The Herald had reported that the in-fighting caused the party to lose the chance to present governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly candidates for the 2019 general election.

The ex-governor said that to achieve genuine reconciliation in the state, all the aggrieved parties “must come to a round table with open mind.

“Reconciliation to some extent will need results but any reconciliation that would eventually mar the prospects of the party is of no point.

“Reconciliation has so many definitions. We are ready to reconcile with everyone.

“But the situation where you are going to reconcile with somebody who already has members in the Government of the State, he has Secretary to the State Government, he has Commissioners, he has everyone there.

“But if everyone is ready for reconciliation we will know what is there because we have been playing this game since 1999.

“We are ready for reconciliation and we are supporting the Caretaker Chairman for any reconciliation, ranging from Zamfara State to anywhere. We want our party to deliver,” Yari stated.
