The Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in Kano State, DSP Magaji Majiya, disclosed this while presenting the suspects to newsmen in Kano on Wednesday.

Majiya said the suspects were nabbed in various successful operations in the state.

“The suspects were apprehended by operatives of the State and Federal Anti Robbery squads maintaining a constant vigil on areas considered as the robbers’ black spots of operations,” he said.

He said two members of an armed robbery syndicate, Yusuf Umar and Amadu Mohammed of Tokarawa Village, were arrested while in an operation with arms, operational vehicle and military uniform in their possession.

“They also used to block Government Girls Secondary School Jogana junction along Kano /Ringim/Hadejia Road,’’ the police spokesman said.

He disclosed that the Police had also arrested one Murtala Adamu, an auto mechanic, who allegedly leaked information to the gang about people to be attacked during their operation.

He said exhibits recovered from the hoodlums included; eight different calibre of arms, four vehicles, five motorcycles, 22 ammunition, a set of military uniform, charms, cars and motorcycle number plates.

Majiya said the operatives of the anti robbery squad also raided a hideout of a notorious robbery syndicate that specialised in snatching motorcycles in Gaida quarters in Kano metropolis.

He said six members of the syndicate were arrested on the spot during the raid, in addition to leading detectives to arrest three other persons who received and purchased the stolen items.

He said items recovered from the hoodlums include one Golf car and three motorcycles.
