Court Orders Substituted Service for DNA Test in Late Singer Mohbad’s Case

1 Min Read

A Lagos court has ordered that Wunmi, the widow of the late singer Mohbad, be served notice of a pending DNA application through substituted means. This development comes amidst an ongoing legal dispute regarding the paternity of Mohbad’s son, Liam.

The order, issued by a Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, allows for the legal documents to be delivered to Wunmi by posting them to her last known address. This approach is necessary because previous attempts by the court sheriff to serve Wunmi in person were unsuccessful.

Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, initiated the DNA application. His legal team argued that serving the documents via certified mail to Wunmi’s last known residence constitutes proper notification of the pending lawsuit.

The Chief Magistrate presiding over the case approved this method of service. Wunmi will now have the opportunity to respond to the DNA application and participate in the legal proceedings.
