Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola has dismissed the candidacy of the Peoples Democratic Party’s gubernatorial aspirant in Lagos, Mr Jimi Agbaje, describing him as inexperienced.
The governor was speaking yesterday at a Town Hall Meeting with artisans and tradesmen. He told them that the All Progressive Congress, APC, candidate, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, can be trusted to govern and lead Lagos State in the right path as he has the needed experience to do so, having been in government for 27 years.
Fashola, however, did not mention Agbaje’s name directly, but referred to him when he opined that the opposition (PDP) wants to experiment with trial and error as against the experience of Ambode.
He went on to advise Lagosians not to trade Ambode’s experience for a rookie in governance matters. According to him, Ambode is better suited for the job because his competence can be verified, saying he worked with him for over six years as Accountant General of the State and would start from where he handed over the baton to him.
He vowed that he could vouch for the Epe-born Ambode as one who would be a worthy successor.
