Nigeria international Ahmed Musa has ended the year with his club CSKA Moscow top of the Russian league on 43 points.
CSKA Moscow lead the standings two points clear of second-placed Anzhi.
Musa, who is CSKA Moscow top scorer with eight goals in the league, told MTNFootball he is thrilled his team are top of the championship halfway through the campaign, but winning the title at the end of the season remains the priority.
“I am happy that we maintained our leadership on the table and go into the long break as leaders. But that is not our target.
We still have a lot of games to play and we won’t lose focus when the league resumes so as to win the title,” Musa told MTNFootball.com
He singled out the clash against Anzhi as the toughest for him so far.
“The game against Anzhi was tough. We did our best but we lost. I did all to score but didn’t work out but its great we are on top,” Musa said.
