Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) has officially approved the training schools of Access Bank Plc and Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTBank) as certified training service providers in the banking category of the institute.
While speaking during the presentation of accreditation certificates to the banks, the President and Chairman of Council, CIBN, Mrs. Debola Osibogun said “The accreditation will open more rooms for intending members to come on board and write our professional examinations.
“It will go down in history that these are the first set of accreditation certificates to be presented to academies and training Service Providers in Nigeria. With this accreditation, GTBank Academy and Access Bank Academy have the stamp of authority to train their workforce and by extension building capacity for the banking and finance industry in Nigeria as required under the competency framework.
“In addition, graduates of these academies will be granted generous exemptions in the flagship ACIB examinations of the Institute. Information at my disposal is that graduates of these academies, irrespective of their background, will be granted exemptions in nine subjects, a reflection on the high quality standards of their curriculum.”
