Diddy Vs. Drake: Is Sean Combs a Bad Role Model for Young Black Men?

4 Min Read

The wire was buzzing with news of yet another fresh hip hop brawl involving entertainment mogul, Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and one of the biggest forces in global music, Drake.

The incident took place at DJ Khaled’s birthday party at LIV nightclub in Miami beach.

TMZ reports, “producer Boi-1da had given both Diddy and Drake a song to record more than 8 months ago. We’re told Diddy sat on the song, which frustrated Drake because he wanted to record it. So recently Drake recorded the song on his own and it did well, which pissed Diddy off.

“Diddy saw Drake at LIV Monday for the first time since the song was released. Sources close to Diddy say he confronted Drake, who just blew him off, and that’s when Diddy said, “You’ll never disrespect me again,” and then punched him.

“We’re told Drake ended up at an ER because in the ruckus he hit his shoulder and exacerbated an old injury.”

Social media has been buzzing about the incident and a few commentators on the TMZ story had this to say:

Why is everyone over looking the fact that a 45 year old man sent a 26 year old to the hospital.

black on black violence is not really newsworthy.

Diddy is just mad no one cares about him, and there is new talent better than him out there.

When are these grown men going to stop acting like 4th graders on the playground?

Diddy sat on the song and Drake wanted to work. technically Diddy is wrong…Diddy didn’t wash the laundry and didn’t want somebody else to do it either…..then diddy used this opportunity as an excuse to abuse drake…a 20 something year old kid just to make a point. Diddy is nearly 50yrs old!!!!!

You can take the man out of the ghetto…………….

HEY, Diddy Bozo…ya silly clown. It’s 2014, and you are still living in the neanderthal era. Black men need to get their minds out of their ghetto history, and start behaving like adult men conducting business. Violence is keeping your race from competing on a level playing field. Every time you pull a stunt like this, you are setting a bad example for black youth, because you are setting them up to also be unable to compete on a level playing field. Violent people are stunted, insecure and unintelligent. A smart man would have cleverly and quietly handled this disappointment by manoeurvering future business decisions. Get a mentor and learn how to be a real man.

I hope Drake sues the crap out of Diddy. Keep your illegitimate baby-making/serial cheater/commitment phobic/always-trying-to hustle-and-con-people-out-of-royalties/shady business dealer/ dirty paws to yourself! Until YOU, Mr. Sean Combs, stop using violence as a way to control others, I don’t want to hear a word from you about police brutality against blacks!!!!

The last commentator why93 made the remarks in reference to Diddy’s outspokenness on the Ferguson, St Louis and New York grand jury decisions that freed two white cops from murder charges in homicides against young black men.

Diddy is thought by a wide segment of society to NOT be promoting healthy attitudes amongst many young black men who look to him as a role model and source of inspiration. HE definitely needs to tone his behavior down a bit and be involved in more projects that give back to a society that has given so much blood, sweat and tears for him.
