American rapper, Kanye West did not yank the mic off anyone or engage in a war of words against any rival, but he still went ahead as usual to steal the headlines at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) which held yesterday. He did this by announcing a shock bid to run for the 2020 U.S. presidency.
In his 11-minute meandering acceptance speech for the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, he said for effect, “And yes as you probably could have guessed by this moment….”
After a long wait as the audience cheered him on, he added, “I have decided in 2020 to run for president.”
That was all the cue needed for the already ecstatic hall to erupt into frenzy.
If this happens and the rapper wins, it totally means that fashion icon, Kim Kardashian-West, his wife, will become First Lady of the United States, FLOTUS. Imagine that!!
