The senator representing Bayelsa East in the National Assembly, Sen. Ben Murray-Bruce has condemned the 2018 appropriation law submitted to the legislature for consideration.
He described the document as “dishonest, scandalous and shameful”.
Taking to his verified Twitter handle on Friday evening, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senator said he was embarrassed for President Muhammadu Buhari on account of the budget.
He said, “The 2018 budget is so dishonest, so scandalous, so shameful that I am embarrassed for President Buhari. If I were President, I will make a broadcast asking concerned Nigerians to gather at National Stadium to line up to give everyone involved in that budget one stroke of the cane.”
However, the senator did not disclose the issue with the budget that prompted his condemnation.
The Herald Nigeria recalls that the Senate had in December 2017 described the budget as “padded and filled with inaccuracies”.
